MNR race preview Brands Hatch

The MNR racing team prepare to make the journey south to one of their favourite circuits this weekend looking to build on the impressive first appearance of the season in the Disklok RGB Championship at Croft a fortnight ago. The team elected to miss the first round at Snetterton in order to further development of the spectacular new aero LMP-F17 car and the decision to wait was justified with a spectacular 2nd place finish on it’s debut.

This weekend should see a range of new components and upgrades on the F17 as the team progress through an aggressive development programme.  The MNR LMP concept is in the early stages of the development cycle, with the team promising more performance upgrades and improvements over the coming weeks and months.

The high speed nature of the Croft circuit should suit the characteristics of the F17, although testing has been limited. MNR works driver said:  “We are all really excited about Brands, the new car looks fantastic and the whole team have done a tremendous job over the winter,  I’m really proud of what we have achieved. The result and performance at Croft was a great reward for the hours put in, now we have to get our head down and push the development programme and upgrade packages to unlocking the full potential of the car, I can’t wait to get behind the wheel again and see what we can do this weekend.”

Having performed strongly here in the past with a double victory in 2015 and with the new car showing all the right signs, the 2016 Championship runner up will be hoping to fight for top step on the podium in class F.

MNR Racing boss Marc Nordon was also in a determined mood ahead of Brands Hatch: “Every new season is exciting, but for MNR and our partners this one is extra special. The teamwork and skill that has gone into designing and building the new LMP-F17 has been incredible, credit to all the MNR team, Lee Baverstock of Garagisti and design consultant Enrique Scalabroni, they have done an amazing job and the car looks quick as! After a great debut at Croft we are now working hard on the upgrades and developments, so Brands will be another important step for the team.”
